When Danny Ainge introduced Kevin Garnett to the media he promised Celtics fans that spending 66 million on Garnett, Pierce and Allen total and would not stop the Celtics from spending more money to get a quality bench. He promised that the luxury tax would not be an issue and that all he cared about was getting a bench to help the Celtics win a title. Well since those comments Danny has signed Scott Pollard. Most people have no clue who Scott Pollard is, Heck I am not even sure If I spelled his name correctly but none the less he is your Celtic bench. Try to hold your excitement. Now that brings us to my ”Everybody party like it’s 1999″ comments. I guess finding a quality bench for less then a few million dollars that would put the Celtics 4 plus million over the Luxury tax was too much to ask for so Danny Ainge decided it was best to put a call into retired Dinosaur Reggie Freaking Miller. The same Miller that has been retired for like 3 seasons and is now a commentator on TNT where he has always been a bitter old troll that has no clue what the word unbiased means when talking about players that used to kick his but on the floor when he played. Sure in his time he was a very good shooter at the 3 point line but isn’t that what Ray Allan was brought here for?
Trying to bring this Celtic nemeses. out of retirement to play on the Celtics makes no sense at all. The only reason I can come up with for this even being a discussion is because Ainge can’t get anyone else to come play here for minimum money. He thought players would be lining up to play for no money with Garnett and that has not been the case.
Players like Shaq now they get players to come to a town to play for no money because they have a resume. They are winners that have helped a team win a title. Kevin Garnett’s stats pretty much benefit Kevin Garnett and not a team. That is why Garnett only once has helped a team win in the playoffs and Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell get huge props for that team winning also. The “star” always gets the credit which is why players like Garnett get the M.V.P awards and nominations (much like Pierce got in 2002) but never get the rings.
______
Al Jefferson is now a member of the Timberwolves and he has not changed. He is already demanding a contract extension starting at ten million (apparently that is what he wanted in Boston also which is why Ainge wanted him shipped out) and detracting comments he made about Ricky Davis and Mark Blount being negative influences in the locker room. Sigh you would think showing up for 3 months out of a 36 month career someone wouldn’t have such an ego.

I probably don’t know as much about Al Jeff as you do, but who wouldn’t say that Ricky Davis is a negative influence?

Ricky Davis might have been a bad influence but frankly all Ainge does is make excuses when the team he put on the floor sucks.
Don’t you think Paul Pierce spitting at the Cavs bench, the way he acted in game 6 of the playoffs in 2005 and the way this team acted as a whole last year when they beat Miami ’s 3rd stringers and San Antonio for the first time in the Tim Duncan era had more to do with a certain other “leader” then it did Davis.?
