This better be an untruthful rumor because frankly if this ends up being fact Danny Ainge is officially a lying piece of liar and needs to be fired on the spot. (like he doesn’t anyway)
Lets say it is true. This means he went to the papers and lied to all of the Celtics fans by giving false quotes to Steve Bulpett to print in the Boston Herald? Gee didn’t I say he has done this before in the past maybe in a blog or two ago? Makes you wonder doesn’t it.
This also means he let Al Jefferson think he was going to be traded again. He let Paul Pierce think he was actually going to get some help again and he pretty much turned the entire state of Massachusetts upside down. (in a matter of speaking. There aren’t a lot of real fans left in Boston) all so Kevin McHale could do Danny’s usual job of helping teams win titles by giving someone away in a trade?
If Danny did this maybe he told Al Jefferson before hand or maybe he didn’t but we all know he didn’t tell Paul Pierce because Pierce’s agent would never sell Pierce down the river with a quote like that to help Danny Ainge help out a friend.
Just more proof I am right. Danny has no clue what he is doing. He needs to be fired before he takes the Celtics down in a flame of not even close to being glory.
NOTE: The Celtics fans do pay Danny’s salary. They buy the tickets, hats and shirts which is turn pays Danny Ainge. Don’t think for a second that if the Celtics still weren’t making Wyc money Danny would be around. Think about that the next time you buy a shirt. It helps mediocrity.

Great take. Only Ainge could cause us to lose games when the season hasn’t even started. This nice kick in the moral just lost us 10 more games next season. We’re lucky Pierce is such a class act, a lesser man would have demanded a trade by now.

I guess those Celtic player friendships transcend pretty deep. It’s pretty pathetic for a GM to make a trade offer to “help a buddy out”. IMHO Ainge and McHale are both awful GMs.
I was surprised when they didn’t fire Doc Rivers, I’m pretty critical of Sam Mitchell and his offense or lack thereof but if there’s one other coach that’s equally as clueless when it comes to X’s and O’s, its Rivers.

According to Pierce’s agent he wants a trade if NO KG. Maybe Danny was trying to get him to push for a trade. He has tried to trade him before to the Clippers and Portland but Pierce was quoted in the paper saying he wouldn’t go to Portland.
Larry Bird does not have full control in Indiana but overall I can’t believe how badly Mchale and Ainge have screwed things up. Or that they still have jobs.

Why they didn’ t fire Doc is a huge question for Celtics fans. My guess is Danny needs a fall guy.
