Is Kevin Garnett feeling unloved? Pierce wants out

I have been reading some Message Boards today of teams “interested” in Kevin Garnett and he isn’t getting much love. Celtics fans think Al Jefferson is the next MJ and they don’t want KG. Several Chicago fans want to keep the team intact and even some Phoenix fans don’t want to give up Amare. All I can ask is Are you all nuts?

Forget the Phoenix Sun fans. I see their point. They feel cheated out of a chance at a title this year with the whole Horry foul thing. They feel their team has a great shot at making it out of the West next season. I can see them not wanting KG but the Bulls and Celtics fans I just don’t get.

KG has never had a player like Paul Pierce on his team. (even if I think he is overrated by just about everyone) For everyone that says KG is a loser that has never won anything just remember who the GM of his team has been for years. The Celtics very own Kevin Mcfail. He is the only GM in the league more inept then Danny Ainge. If he was to trade KG to Boston his team would consist of Ricky Davis, Mark Blount, Al Jefferson, Gerald Green and filler. Anyone recognize that team? You should it the Celtics team of the last 3 years. (give or take a slam dunk champion)

The Bulls are another team I don’t get not wanting KG. Besides beating a hurt Miami Heat team that never got a chance to get it together what have you done the last few years to merit sticking your nose up at KG? I didn’t think so.

KG isn’t perfect and he isn’t a star that can carry a team by himself to the NBA finals but he is hardly the ball hog malcontent that Celtics and Bulls fans have been labeling him recently. IMO KG has had a lot of patience in Minnesota,12 years of patience. I am surprised he didn’t want out years ago.

According to a chat at ESPN Paul Pierce’s agent says he wants out if they don’t get KG. (So much for the people that say Danny Ainge never caters to what a star player or what fans want) Do I blame him for not wanting to work under Danny Ainge anymore? Hell no . I am surprised he has lasted this long (in all fairness he hasn’t lasted this long. Fact is he was quite the whiny baby up until last season) but if he is so intent on winning a title and doesn’t care about the money why did he sign the extension? Behuler? Behuler?

Fact is Pierce wanted the money over winning until he got the money. Now he wants out. Some fans think he deserves a chance at winning a title. Others like me think if you wanted out you would have had the opportunity to do just that until you signed the extension. Now you should just shut up and play basketball. Next time you have to go play a game as your career think about the crap money Police, Firefighters and Teachers get and the situations they put themselves in every day. Then tell me again how you are the classic best player on a bad team that deserves a chance to win.

  • Great post. I think a lot of teams’ lack of interest in KG is because the cost of acquiring him is higher than what they’d like to pay. Whether you agree or not, he is considered to be overrated for decent enough reasons. Nobody’s arguing that he’s not a good player but he makes a lot of money and in general doesn’t produce whats expected for that kind of salary. I can see why Chicago wouldn’t want him (they’ll be giving up too much) but for the Celtics to not acquire him when they obviously have young “talent” they can part with is confusing.

    Hi. Thanks for leaving comments.

KG is not overrated IMO and he never will be. He is the best all around player in the NBA that has never had any talent beside him. Imagine him in Chicago. It boggles the mind why no one wants him.

Boston overrated their players and always has.

    Thanks again for leaving comments.
